How long does it last?
Steps to Work is flexible and the time you spend on it could be anywhere between one day and 6 months depending on how much help you need to find work.

 

Can I get qualifications on the programme?
Yes, you can undertake short and longer term training courses leading to vocational qualifications (where these meet the needs of the local labour market).

 

Where will I do work experience?
High quality placements will be arranged with local employers to give you an opportunity to develop new skills in a real work environment.

 

Can I get extra support to help me make the most of my time on Steps to Work?
Yes, you can get extra one to one, personalised help to overcome any barriers or issues you may have that affect your ability to participate in Steps to Work and move into work afterwards.

 

If I join Steps to Work will it affect my benefit?
No. If you are receiving benefit, you will continue to receive the same amount.
